Canvas Transition FAQ
❓ Canvas Transition FAQ
Why can't I log in to Canvas?
If you are not currently enrolled in a course that will use Canvas, your Canvas account may not have been created yet. Accounts are created closer to the beginning of your first Canvas course.
You do not need to create an account yourself.
My course started in Moodle. Should I look for it in Canvas?
No. If your course has already started in Moodle, continue completing that course in Moodle. It will not move to Canvas while the course is underway.
Can I have courses in Moodle and Canvas at the same time?
Yes. During the transition, you may have courses in both systems. Be sure to check where each of your courses is being offered.
Where do I access Canvas?
Use the RCC Canvas website:
Consider bookmarking it for easy access.
Do I need to create my own Canvas account?
No. If your course will use Canvas, your RCC Canvas account will be created for you closer to the start of your course.
When will all RCC courses be in Canvas?
Beginning in January 2027, all RCC courses will be beginning in Canvas.
Note: If your course has already started in Moodle, continue completing that course in Moodle. It will not move to Canvas while the course is underway.
I can log in, but I don't see my course. What should I do?
First, make sure the course you're looking for is scheduled to use Canvas. Remember that courses already underway in Moodle will remain in Moodle.
If you believe that there is an error with your courses in Canvas, please reach out to RCC's Distance Education department at deteam@randolph.edu for further assistance.
